March 21st
Wales v Ireland
Millennium Stadium Cardiff

This was the place to be. The choir turned out in force to help spur on the Welsh side conducted by the ever present Haydn James- so close a result - hard to bear!! Many of the choir have been on the pitch before but nothing could prepare you for the roar from a capacity Millennium Stadium when the Welsh team ran out in this crucial title game. We ventured a little from norm in singing to the Irish contingent - The Fields of Athenry - it produced a great reaction. As usual one chorister got hit on the head by a ball from a practice goal kick. We sang all the classics but were thwarted by time constraints in singing Yma O Hyd in our final medley. The anthems were the highlight and it never fails to stir the emotions. Then a rapid dash off the field to get to our seats. We felt privileged to be a part of the occasion. It couldn't have been a closer game.
