3 Concert Tour of South West France
May is a traditional time for a Choir tour and this year we set off for a 3 concert tour based in Bordeaux. Our first concert was in the magnificent Cathédrale St-Pierre in Saintes, the second in the lovely town of Anglouême in the Eglise du Sacré-Coeur and we finished with a concert in the Basilique Saint-Seurin in Bordeaux.
All the concerts were well attended and ended with standing ovations. It took us a while to get used to the French way of showing appreciation - the slow hand clap!
The concerts were organised by two ex choristers who now live in France and they were in aid of the French charity Le Secours Populaire Français.
Needless to say there was time for a little relaxation and visits to Cognac and St Emilion were well enjoyed.
