May 9th
Oundle School Chapel

On May 9th we were invited to sing in the magnificant Oundle School Chapel. The concert was in aid of the AFriends of Volunteer Action which provides transport and support for those who need it in the local area and the Alzheimer's Society with which we have had many concert links.
The chapel was sold out and the surroundings and the acoustics provided a memorable concert.
We were enchanted by the repertiore of Rita Cullis, an internationally renowned Soprano, and we joined her in the always popular 'You'll Never Walk Alone' . Geraint Lewis from the choir sang what many felt was his best rendering of Elin Fwyn and a first ,for him, a song of Ivor Novello. David Williams was solist in Working Man and 'Ai am fod hael yn machlud' .
It was a lovely concert and we were conducted by Haydn James with Annabel Thwaite our accompanist. Mr J C Arkell , the Head of Music and the school organist joined in on several pieces.
Richard Owen, a member of the choir, is director of the Oundle School Foundation and we are grateful to him for being instrumental in organising the concert.
