The concert was well received by an enthusiastic audience and the Choir produced a good sound. We were skilfully conducted by our Musical Director, Edward-Rhys Harry, and superbly accompanied on the piano by Annabel Thwaite. David Williams was the choir soloist in "Working Man", with this item being especially appreciated by the audience.
Margaret Pattinson, soprano, was the principal soloist and she sang a variety of songs ranging from Handel to Ivor Novello, accompanied by her son Ian Pattinson. She also joined the Choir to sing "You'll Never Walk Alone" as her encore. The Concert was effectively compered by Colin Jones from our Choir.
After the concert the Choir plus Rotary members and guests ended up at the Hawkshead Brewery for a meal, which was donated by the Concert organisers. There was also some impromptu singing lubricated by the local real ale!.
One of the joys of the Choir is to take advantage of the areas of the country we visit and the sunny weather encouraged a number of Choristers to extend their trip by a few days.
Here is just one of the views I came across during a few days in the Keswick area
