A Garden Party to Make a Difference
Clarence House Sunday September 12th

The Prince of Wales opened up his own gardens at Clarence House, together with his neighbours’ gardens at Lancaster House and Marlborough House this September to stage ‘A Garden Party To Make A Difference’, a rare opportunity to visit these historic gardens, which will last 12 days, from the 8th to the 19th of September 2010.
‘A Garden Party To Make A Difference’
is an imaginative part of The Prince of Wales’s ‘Start’initiative launched in February. The event aims to give people of all ages a fun day out while at the same time, via the exhibits, demonstrating the small steps that can, and are, being taken by all of us, interested in building a more sustainable future.

The London Welsh Male Voice Choir were honoured to be part of the occasion and we sang at mid-day on Sunday 12th September on the main stage in the historic Friary court situated by the side of St James's Palace. Above the Stage is the balcony known as Proclamation Balcony, where the accession of a new Monarch is proclaimed.

We were allocated 30 minutes during which we sang nine pieces conducted by our MD Edward-Rhys Harry and accompanied by Annabel Thwaite on the piano.

It was quite an experience and the weather was kind to us and a large appreciative crowd were drawn to the square.
